Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut sheet metal. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high-power laser. The focused laser beam is directed at the material, which melts, & then is blown away by a jet of oxygen or nitrogen, leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish.The head of the laser cutter is moved over a sheet of metal using CNC (computer numerical control.) the result is a high accuracy sheet metal part.
Black Lab decided to go with a fiber Laser cutter for many reasons. The process of laser cutting is fast & Precise. This means we are able to produce large numbers of products quickly. The fiber Laser means we are able to cut material such as brass and copper.
